Brussels sprouts with bacon

Brussels sprouts go really well with bacon. In this version the addition of rosemary and Worcestershire sauce makes it even more tasty! This is a super easy side dish, perfect with a Sunday roast or in a dinner party menu.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Brussel sprouts
  • 4 slices streaky bacon smoked
  • 1 sprig of rosemary leaves
  • 50 ml water or vegetable stock
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce aprox.
  • 2 small knobs of butter or dairy-free spread
  • 2 tsp olive Oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Cut the bacon into thin strips.
  2. Clean the Brussels sprouts, then slice them finely or use a food processor to shred them into small pieces.
  3. Heat a little oil in a frying pan, add the bacon and rosemary leaves then a small knob of butter. Cook until crispy, then add the Brussels sprouts and another knob of butter. Add the water or vegetable stock and sauté , under cover, for 5 minutes.
  4. When the sprouts are soft add some Worcestershire sauce to taste and season with salt & pepper.
  5. Serve warm.
