Ingredients

  • 2 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 cup corn
  • 1 Tbsp rice flour
  • 1 Tbsp chick pea flour
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1 Tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 1 Tbsp chopped curry leaves
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for deep frying

Method

  1. Make a coarse paste of corn in a blender.
  2. In a bowl add the shredded cabbage, rice flour, chickpea flour, cumin seeds and corn paste.
  3. Add chopped green chillies, chopped ginger, coriander leaves, chopped curry leaves and salt.
  4. Add little water and mix well. Never add too much of water, otherwise it will spoil the texture of the fritters.
  5. Heat oil in a deep bottomed pan. Drop small portions of the batter one by one in the heated oil.
  6. Keep stirring and fry until golden brown. Drain on a kitchen tissue.
  7. Repeat the process till the batter is finished. Serve hot with coffee or tea.
