Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks sirloin or rump
  • 3 Tbsp soya sauce light
  • 2 Tbsp Chinese plum sauce or plum jam
  • 1 inch of ginger
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 spring onion
  • 1 handful of coriander chopped

Method

  1. Peel the ginger and finely grate it. Finely chop the garlic and the spring onion too - including the green leafy part.
  2. Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Add the steaks, cover them well and leave them in the marinade for at least 30 minutes - longer if you can.
  3. Preheat your grill, barbecue or griddle pan.
  4. Cook the steaks according to your liking and the thickness of the meat (about 4 minutes on each side for medium), basting with the marinade. If you're using a griddle pan, pour the marinade around the steaks to create a sauce. Serve the steaks with sauce.
