Gently heat the water until it's lukewarm, about blood temperature. Put about 200 ml in a container (allowing space above for froth) then stir in the yeast and sugar.
Add the flours to the breadmaker pan, followed by the oil, salt and the rest of the water.
When the yeast liquid has got a nice frothy head (about 10 minutes) pour it into the pan.
Set the machine to its normal wholemeal loaf setting (around 5 hours in most breadmakers) and start with no timer delay. If using mixed seeds, put them in the auto-dispenser or add about halfway through.
When the cycle completes take out the loaf and allow to cool on a wire rack before slicing.
