Halloween ghost and Frankenstein toast

Ingredients Method

Ingredients
  

  • A few slices of sourdough bread
  • Cottage cheese
  • Guacamole or mashed avocado
  • Black and green olives
  • Red pepper cut into small pieces

Method
 

  1. To make the ghost toasts:
  2. Cut the bottom of each slice of bread into a ghost shape,trimming away a little piece to create two legs.
  3. Toast the bread until golden.
  4. Spread a generous layer of cottage cheese over each slice. For extra flavour, mix a little garlic or lemon zest into the cottage cheese before spreading.
  5. Cut small eyes and a mouth from black olives and arrange them on top to create spooky ghost faces.
  6. To make the Frankenstein toasts:
  7. Trim the bottom of each slice of bread to create a roughly square or rectangular face.
  8. Toast the bread, then spread the guacamole or mashed avocado over the top.
  9. Use small pieces of olive and red pepper to make the eyes.
  10. Cut the olives into small pieces or strips to create Frankenstein's hair and mouth. Add red pepper details if you like.
  11. Arrange your Halloween toasts on a platter and serve straight away.
