Ingredients

  • 1 pack of extra firm tofu about 350g
  • 1 Tbsp neutral oil
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 tsp crushed chilli flakes optional

Method

  1. Mix honey, soy sauce, vinegar, sesame seeds and chilli flakes (if used) in a bowl, set aside.
  2. Pat-dry the tofu, cut it into 1cm thick slices, then cut diagonally to create 2 triangles per slice.
  3. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the tofu for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden.
  4. Add the mixture to the pan, and turn the heat down. Cook for another 10 minutes or so (flipping them a couple of times) until the sauce is reduced to a sticky glaze and the tofu is slightly caramelized.
  5. Serve then warm on top of a salad or let it cool and serve as snacks. Scatter some sesame seeds over the top.
