Cut the figs in half or into wedges. Put them in a small baking dish, cut-side facing upwards.
Cut the mandarin in half, and squeeze the juice into a small bowl.
Tuck the mandarin halves between the figs. Scatter the walnuts on top.
Add the cinnamon, syrup and spices to the mandarin juice, combine well, then drizzle this over the figs (or brush the figs with the mixture).
Put the dish in a preheated oven and bake (at about 180C degrees) for about 10-15 minutes, until tender.
Serve warm or at room temperature, garnished with baby mint leaves.
