Cream the butter, sugar and cinnamon together.
Roll out the puff pastry (on its packaging sheet) and spread the butter-cream evenly on top. Sprinkle with the raisins.
Roll up the pastry along its long side. If you have time, cover the roll tightly with cling-film and chill for 15 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
When the sausage-roll is solid, cut it up into 1.5 cm slices using a sharp knife. Place these on a lined or greased baking sheet allowing plenty of space between them (they will double in size).
Brush the top with the egg-wash and sprinkle with a little sugar. Bake for 15 minutes until golden and transfer them onto a wire rack to cool.
