Rogan josh burger

If  you like your hamburger spicy try this Indian-style Rogan Josh burger! It's super-easy to make - perfect for parties and barbecues. You can serve it without buns (with chips &/or salad) or in gluten-free rolls too.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g minced beef
  • 3 Tbsp rogan josh curry paste
  • 2 Tbsp chopped coriander
  • 1 red onion cut into rings
  • Buns lettuce, tomato slices or tomato relish
  • Salt&pepper
  • olive oil

Method
 

  1. Mix the minced meat with the curry paste and the coriander. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  2. Divide it into 4 equal sized balls, then flatten them slightly between your palms into at disk shape.
  3. Brush the patties with olive oil on both sides.
  4. Put the barbecue on, or heat a griddle pan, and cook the patties on each side for 5-6 minutes, according to your liking. Rest them for 5 minutes (under cover).
  5. In the meantime, in another pan, fry the onions in a little olive oil until soft - if using a barbecue, brush the onion rings with some oil and put them on the griddle.
  6. Cut the buns in half, then toast them till lightly charred.
  7. Construct the burgers: put the lettuce on the bottom half of the bun, add some spicy tomato chutney, then the putty and top with the onion rings and the bun-half.
  8. Serve warm.
