Ingredients

  • 450 g lean minced beef
  • 2 cloves of garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsps Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp hot paprika
  • 4 spring onions thinly sliced
  • handful fresh parsley leaves chopped
  • Salt & pepper
  • To serve: buns cheese (optional), coleslaw or lettuce, sliced tomatoes/red onion/ gherkins, relish sauce etc

Method

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the mince, garlic, ketchup, mustard, Worcester sauce, paprika and spring onion. Season with salt and pepper, then combine well with your hands. Add the parsley and mix.
  2. Divide the mixture into four patties, and rest them until you’re ready to cook.
  3. Heat a little olive oil in a non-stick frying pan or heat an oiled griddle pan. Fry the patties on each side for 3-5 minutes, depending on how well-done you like your beef.
  4. Meanwhile toast or grill your buns (cut in half).
  5. Whilst the patties are resting on a plate, add your chosen condiments and sauces to the lower half of the buns.
  6. Add the patties, then top with the upper half of the bun and serve.
