Turkey and apple burgers

The texture of minced turkey is perfect for burgers, also it's generally considered more healthy than beef. Here is a quick and easy recipe to make yummy turkey and apple burgers. Perfect for parties and barbeques  - or as a lazy midweek supper.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g minced turkey meat
  • 1 sprig of celery
  • 1 green apple
  • 8 spring onions
  • 1 handful parsley leaves
  • ¼ teaspoon Tabasco optional
  • To serve: buns mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, etc.

Method
 

  1. Finely chop the vegetables and parsley. Peel the apple, cut it into tiny cubes.
  2. In a mixing bowl, mix the chopped vegetables, meat and Tabasco. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Form 4 large or 6 balls, then press them slightly between your palms.
  4. Rest the patties in the fridge until cooking.
  5. Heat your grill, BBQ or griddle pan.
  6. Brush the burgers with oil and cook them on a medium heat for 5 minutes on each side.
  7. Meanwhile, cut the buns in half, then toast or grill them cut-side down. Spread mayonnaise and/or ketchup on the bottom half, followed by lettuce, tomatoes, gherkins or coleslaw or whatever you like. Place the burger on top of the layered condiments and cover with the other half of the bun.
