Background

This Beef, Bean and Broccoli Stir Fry is a really quick and easy supper dish to please kids and adults alike. It's is very healthy and tasty - and ready in just 20 minutes from start to finish!

Ingredients

450g frying steak
2 cups broccoli florets
2 cups trimmed green beans
1 onion, sliced
To coat the beef:
2 Tbsp cornflour
2 Tbsp water
½ tsp garlic powder
pinch of salt & pepper
To fry the beef:
1 Tbsp groundnut oil
To fry the vegetables:
1 Tbsp groundnut oil
For the sauce:
4 Tbsp light soy sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
½ thumb of finely grated fresh ginger

Instructions

Cut the beef into thin strips and mix together with the cornflour, garlic powder & water.
Heat your wok or frying pan, add 1 Tbsp oil and allow to heat up well. Stir fry the coated beef for 5 or 6 minutes, then remove to a plate and cover.
Add another Tbsp oil then stir fry the vegetables for another 5 minutes, before returning the beef to the pan.
Pour in the sauce, stir well and cook for another couple of minutes.
Serve with noodles or boiled rice.
