Background

If you like the cocktail, Bloody Mary, you'll love this warm version, which will help you survive the winter months! You can serve it with or without vodka - either way this Bloody Mary Soup will warm you up! Perfect for parties as an aperitif!

Ingredients

1 tsp olive oil
1 clove of garlic
500 ml tomato juice
250 ml Passata
1 Tbsp Worcester sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
To serve: Tabasco, Vodka, Celery
Horseradish cream:
3 Tbsp Greek yoghurt or crème fraîche
1 Tbsp horseradish sauce

Instructions

Mince the garlic. Heat the oil in a saucepan with the garlic. When it sizzles and starts browning, add the tomato juice and passata. Bring to a simmer and cook gently for about 10 minutes - do not let it boil!
Add the Worcestershire sauce & lemon juice - season to taste with salt and pepper.
Mix the yoghurt with the horseradish.
Pour the soup into heat-resistant glasses or mugs. Add one Tbsp of vodka to each, then a few drops of Tabasco and a little horseradish cream. Serve each with a celery stick.
