Background

I use this simple Bread Machine White Loaf recipe at least once a week because my daughter absolutely loves it - actually, so do I! It takes only a couple of minutes to prepare then you can just let your bread machine do its miraculous job to create this delicious loaf. If yours has a timer it's even better because you can set it to call you to breakfast with the wonderful aroma of fresh-baked bread.

Ingredients

1tsp Dried Yeast
500g Strong White Flour (Canadian is great)
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Salt
45 ml Olive Oil (3 Tbsps)
310 ml Warm water

Instructions

Unless your bread machine manual suggests otherwise:
Put the ingredients into the baking pan in the above order
Select the "Italian" function (or equivalent) which takes about 4½ hours
If you want it warm for e.g. breakfast set the timer (if available) appropriately.
Use oven gloves to remove the pan and tip onto a cooling for a few minutes before slicing.
