Ingredients: 1 cup White kidney beans (Pressure cooked with 2 and ½ cups of water); 1 Onion big (Chopped); 1 Green chilli; 3 Tomatoes chopped; 1 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste; 2 tsp Coriander powder; 1 tsp Cumin powder; ½ tsp Chilli powder; Salt as required; 2 Cardamoms; 2 Cloves; 1" Cinnamon stick; 1 Tbsp Oil; ½ tsp Turmeric

Background

White kidney beans are very healthy and very tasty once cooked with the right amount of spices. This curry is a family favourite and goes very well with rice or roti.

Ingredients

1 cup White kidney beans (Pressure cooked with 2 and ½ cups of water)
1 Onion big (Chopped)
1 Green chilli
3 Tomatoes chopped
1 Tbsp Ginger garlic paste
2 tsp Coriander powder
1 tsp Cumin powder
½ tsp Chilli powder
Salt as required
2 Cardamoms
2 Cloves
1" Cinnamon stick
1 Tbsp Oil
½ tsp Turmeric

Instructions

Pressure cook the white kidney beans until they are soft.
Meanwhile, heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel and add cinnamon, cardamom and cloves.
Add the onion and fry them until brown.
Add the green chilli, ginger garlic paste and turmeric to it and fry for a minute.
Add the tomatoes, coriander powder and cumin powder and cook until the tomatoes are soft.
Add the pressure cooked white kidney beans and salt to this and cook for 5 minutes.
Serve hot with rice or roti.
