Chicken do pyaza

Chicken do pyaza is a very famous chicken dish in India. It is a great favourite in Indian restaurants and is a must try.  It is actually easy to make and very delicious. It goes very well with steamed rice or roti.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Chicken
  • 2 Tbsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 Onions Sliced
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric
  • ½ tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 4 Dry red chillies
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • ½ Bunch coriander leaves Chopped
  • 1 tsp Lime juice
  • Salt as required
  • 2 Tbsp Yogurt
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 3 Green chillies
  • ½ tsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin powder
  • ½ Onion chopped medium sized for seasoning
  • 1 tsp Oil

Method
 

  1. Heat oil in a deep bottomed vessel and add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add the onions and fry them until brown and add the ginger garlic paste and fry until the rawness is gone.
  3. Mix together yogurt, chilli powder, cumin powder and coriander powder and add this mixture with little water to the fried onions.
  4. Add the chicken and green chillies and mix well and cook under lid until the chicken is tender and cooked.
  5. In another pan, heat 1 tsp oil and add ½ chopped onion and red chillies and fry for a couple of minutes and pour this seasoning over the chicken.
  6. In the end, add garam masala, coriander and lime juice and mix and switch off the flame.
