Indian fried chicken

Indian  fried chicken recipe has many variations. This recipe is a pleasant result of my experimentation, mixing different ingredients recognisable to my taste buds. It turned out to be a family hit!

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g Chicken thighs boneless Cut into medium pieces
  • 2 Onions roughly chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes roughly chopped
  • 1 " Ginger grated
  • 6 Cloves garlic grated
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp Erős Pista sauce optional
  • Salt as required
  • 1 Tbsp Spring onion greens chopped (For garnishing)
  • 3 Tbsp Oil
  • 1 tsp Garam masala
  • ½ tsp Soya sauce
  • 1 tsp Tomato ketchup

Method
 

  1. In a pan, heat 1 Tbsp oil on medium heat. Fry onions, ginger, garlic and tomato until soft. Remove from fire and let it cool.
  2. Grind the above to a smooth paste and set aside.
  3. Heat 2 Tbsp oil in a deep bottomed vessel. Add the onion paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric, chilli powder, Garam masala and salt and fry for couple of minutes.
  4. Add 1 tsp Erős Pista, soya sauce, tomato ketchup and fry for a minute.
  5. Add the chicken pieces and fry until cooked and all the moisture is gone.
  6. Garnish with spring onion greens.
