Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Peel and core the apples, then chop roughly into bite-sized chunks or cut them into thin slices.
Put them in an oven-proof dish. Pour over the apple juice, scatter some sugar (about 2 Tbsp.), the crushed cloves, and half of the cinnamon & ginger over the apple.
Rub the margarine with the flour, ginger and cinnamon until you get a mixture resembling breadcrumbs, then add the oats and the remaining sugar.
Cover the apple evenly with the oat crumble, slightly pressing the top down with a spoon.
Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and crispy.
Serve it warm with dairy-free ice-cream, custard or yoghurt.
