Baked figs with Gorgonzola and Parma ham

Background

These baked figs with Gorgonzola and Parma ham are wonderful nibbles over the winter festivities. They are super-easy to make and are absolutely delicious! You can also serve them as a starter on some salad leaves in a celebratory menu.

Ingredients

4 figs
50g Gorgonzola
2 slices of Parma ham
Dressing:
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1 Tbsp runny honey
1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
To serve: rocket (arugula) or mixes salad leaves

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Cut the figs carefully in half lengthwise.
Mix the dressing.
Cut a cross into the figs on the top and fill with some crumbled cheese. Wrap them with the ham leaving the tops uncovered.
Place then onto a non-stick or lined baking tray and bake for 5-10 minutes.
When the cheese begins to melt and the ham is crispy, remove them from the oven.
Serve with rocket salad and/or with the dressing drizzled over the figs.

Tips

You can use dolcelatte cheese and other prosciutto hams too!
