Pear, fig and ginger crumble
This easy pear, fig and ginger crumble is a perfect dessert after a roast dinner or Sunday lunch. It’s sweet and zingy, yet healthy and gluten-free. You can even make it with dairy-free spread too! Serve it with cream, Greek yoghurt, mascarpone or ice-cream!

- Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- Peel, core and slice the pears, quarter the figs. Arrange these in an ovenproof dish, squeeze a little lemon juice over.
- Finely chop the stem, scatter over the fruits. Sprinkle the sugar on top.
- In a bowl work the butter and oatmeal with your fingers, until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs (alternatively use a food processor). Add the ground ginger, sugar and rolled oats, combine well.
- Evenly scatter the crumble on top of the fruits, pressing down slightly.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm.
