Stilton baked figs

Figs and blue cheese are old friends so it’s no wonder this stilton baked figs is a delicious, little treat! Ideal for a  savoury pudding, or as a starter – or serve it with pancakes/waffles for breakfast. It goes well with game and turkey/goose during the festive season.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 ripe figs
  • 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 50 g stilton
  • 4 walnut halves

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Lightly oil a baking dish.
  2. Trim the figs then cut a cross in each about halfway through the fruit.
  3. Put them in a baking dish then push a piece of walnut into the each cut. Drizzle each with balsamic vinegar and honey, then put a chunk of stilton into each cut. Drizzle again with some honey and balsamic.
  4. Bake for about 8-10 minutes until the cheese starts melting and the figs have softened (they should not become too soft.
  5. Serve warm with extra honey.
