Tawa fish fry

Tawa fish fry is made with fresh water fish coated with masala and is shallow fried.

Ingredients
  

  • 5-6 fish pieces
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds powder
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds powder
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2-3 tsp water
  • ½ lemon
  • 4 Tbsp oil
  • salt as per taste
  • 2-3 tsp water
  • 2 Tbsp coriander leaves finely chopped

Method
 

  1. Wash the fish pieces thoroughly under running water, apply some salt and turmeric to the fish pieces and rest them for few minutes. Wash again well.
  2. In a bowl, add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds powder, coriander seeds powder, salt as per taste, ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, 1 tsp oil and little water. Mix well to make a thick paste.
  3. Coat the fish pieces on both sides with masala and marinate for 30 min.
  4. Take a pan and add oil.
  5. Place the fish pieces carefully in the pan and cook them for 10 min or until the side is soft, crisp and golden brown. Make sure the masala coat is cooked and fried as well.
  6. Carefully flip them and repeat the same on the other side.
  7. Garnish them with coriander leaves and serve hot with sambar rice.
