Baked figs with Gorgonzola and Parma ham

These baked figs with Gorgonzola and Parma ham are wonderful nibbles over the winter festivities. They are super-easy to make and are absolutely delicious! You can also serve them as a starter on some salad leaves in a celebratory menu.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 figs
  • 50 g Gorgonzola
  • 2 slices of Parma ham
  • Dressing:
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 Tbsp runny honey
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • To serve: rocket arugula or mixes salad leaves

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
  2. Cut the figs carefully in half lengthwise.
  3. Mix the dressing.
  4. Cut a cross into the figs on the top and fill with some crumbled cheese. Wrap them with the ham leaving the tops uncovered.
  5. Place then onto a non-stick or lined baking tray and bake for 5-10 minutes.
  6. When the cheese begins to melt and the ham is crispy, remove them from the oven.
  7. Serve with rocket salad and/or with the dressing drizzled over the figs.
