Spiced Maple BBQ Ribs

Men generally seem to love tending the barbecue even if they’re not that into other cooking chores. This sweet & sour Spiced Maple BBQ Ribs marinade is just the thing for laid-back BBQ parties – particularly if said men are well provided with beer to slake their thirst as they do their thing! Serve with coleslaw, salsa and potato salad.

Ingredients
  

  • A rack of pork ribs
  • Marinade: 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • ½ tsp chilli flakes
  • 1 Tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 Tbsp worcester sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • salt & pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Mix together all the marinade ingredients in a small pan. Bring to a simmer over a medium heat stirring frequently.
  3. Put the ribs into a suitably sized baking tray. Season both sides of the rib rack and pour over the sauce.
  4. Cook in the oven for about an hour, turning occasionally. Finish off both sides on the BBQ for about 5 minutes.
