Pizza dough garlic breadsticks

When you have leftover pizza dough or a ready-rolled pizza dough in your fridge you can make quick and easy snacks from it, like these pizza dough garlic breadsticks. It takes 5 minutes to prepare and about 8 minutes to cook.  It’s vegan if plant-based margarine is used.

Ingredients
  

  • Leftover or ready-rolled pizza dough
  • 2 Tbsp soft butter or dairy-free spread melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or fresh chopped rosemary
  • Salt and pepper

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 190°C.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface – if you want the breadsticks thin and crispy, the dough should be about 3mm. If you want them fluffy – the dough should be thicker.
  3. Cut the dough into (approx.) 3x6cm rectangles, using a pizza cutter. You can make them longer and thinner if preferred.
  4. Mix the melted butter with garlic the herbs.
  5. Bush the rectangles with the garlic butter, then put them on a baking tray, lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 5-8 minutes, or until the edges are golden.
  7. Let them cool, then serve.
