Braised red cabbage with cherries
Spiced, stewed red cabbage is a must on the Christmas dining table and during the winter festivities. This Braised Red cabbage with cherries goes particularly well with roast turkey and game. You can use fresh, dried or preserved cherries – if you use preserved ones, add the cherries for the last 5 minutes of cooking. Do use some of the syrup too! For a boozy version you can add a spoonful of orange or cherry brandy when it’s cooked. Alternatively, in a festive menu, usebrandied cherriesfor garnishing.
