Mulled wine and dried fruits crumble
During the winter festivities we normally do eat more puddings and cakes than the rest of the year. This mulled wine crumble not only tastes and smells Christmassy but is very easy to make and feels very comforting on cold, horrid days. So if you’re making some mulled wine, just keep a mug back and try out this recipe – you won’t regret it!
Ingredients
Method
- Preheat the oven to 190°C.
- Warm up the mulled wine with dried fruits and the water and simmer for 10 minutes on a very low heat. It must not boil! Turn off the heat, leave to cool.
- Meanwhile mix the butter with the flour and spice until you get a mixture resembling breadcrumbs. Mix in the sugar.
- Transfer the soaking fruits and mulled wine to a deep oven-proof then cover evenly with the crumble. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before serving. Serve it with custard or vanilla ice-cream.
