Mixed berry oat crumble

I always keep a bag of mixed berries in the freezer as they’re really useful for making easy desserts and healthy treats. This mixed berry oat crumble is yummy and super-easy to make – also it’s healthier than most of the crumble recipes out there!

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g frozen mixed berries summer or forest fruits
  • 100 g healthy flour see Tips
  • 50 g rolled oats
  • 50 g fructose or unrefined cane sugar
  • 1 tsp mixed spice
  • 100 g diced butter or dairy-free margarine
  • 50 g hazelnuts chopped

Method
 

  1. Put the fruit into a greased, oven-proof dish. Sprinkle with some sugar.
  2. Mix the remaining sugar with the flour, mixed spice and oatmeal.
  3. Add the butter and rub everything together with your fingers into a crumble.
  4. Add the chopped hazelnuts, mix well.
  5. Cover the berries with the crumble, slightly pressing down.
  6. Bake for about 20-25 minutes until golden
  7. Serve warm with custard, vanilla ice-cream or Greek yoghurt.
