Baked Camembert with figs and walnuts
Background
Baked Camembert is a wonderful dish to share with friends and loved ones - it’s also perfect for parties with an aperitif or for finishing off a meal or dinner party. I made this baked Camembert with figs and walnuts using goat’s milk Camembert cheese which was particularly delicious but the normal cow's milk version is very tasty too. Serve it with crusty bread, crackers, croutons or breadsticks.
Ingredients
- 4-6 figs
- 1 whole camembert
- 1 handful walnut halves
- 5 thyme sprigs
- 3 Tbsp honey
- 3 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Unwrap the cheese and put it in the middle of a large, non-stick baking sheet.
- Cut the figs in half and scatter around the cheese together with the walnuts.
- Cut the thyme sprigs in half and stick a few of them into the cheese, then scatter the rest on top of the figs. Drizzle everything with honey and the balsamic vinegar.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until the figs are golden and the cheese starts melting.
- Serve warm.
