Bottle gourd and tomato curry

Background
Bottle gourd and tomato curry is tasty and healthy. This recipe is easy to make.
Ingredients
- 500g bottle Gourd
- 2 medium sized tomatoes
- 1 big sized onion
- 2 green chillies
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ½ cup fresh grated coconut
- 2 Tbsp oil
- ¼ tsp split black gram
- ¼ tsp cumin seeds
- salt to taste
- ½ cup water
Instructions
- Wash and peel bottle gourd and cut in small pieces. Set aside. Likewise cut onion and tomato into small pieces and set aside.
- Take a pan and add oil. To the oil , add the black gram and cumin seeds. Fry for 1 min.
- Add onion and fry until golden brown.
- Add the cut pieces of bottle gourd and fry for 3 min. Add water and cover with lid. Cook until done.
- Add the tomato and cover with lid to cook until done.
- Add Salt, turmeric and chilli powder . Mix well.
- Grind grated coconut into paste and add this to the bottle gourd. Mix well and cook for 5 min.
- Serve hot with rice or roti.
