Cinnamon puff pastry stars
Background
These Cinnamon puff pastry stars must be one of the easiest snacks to bake during the festivities. I like munching them on Christmas eve while watching Midnight Mass ( Santa is also very fond on them -Β :). They accompany mulled wine perfectly or can be served with a mug of hot chocolate, coffee or tea-Β so ideal as party nibbles or snacks during the festivities. I made them using gluten-free puff pastry, so they are not puffed up too much.
Ingredients
- 1 sheet ready-rolled puff pastry
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 3 Tbsp muscovado sugar
- 1 egg (beaten)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Mix together your cinnamon and sugar, then scatter this mixture onto a flat plate or chopping board.
- Roll out the puff pastry and using a cookie cutter press out stars - I used 3 different sizes.
- Using a silicon brush, wet the top of the stars with the beaten egg, then dip them into the cinnamon sugar.
- Place them on the lined baking tray and bake for approx. 10-15 minutes (in the middle of the oven) until golden.
- Let them cool in the tray before transferring them onto a serving plate.
