
Background
This cucumber and red onion salad is an easy and tasty condiment for burgers, sandwiches, kebabs and so on. Perfect for parties, barbecues and picnics.
Ingredients
- 1 cucumber
- 2 Tbsp cider vinegar
- 1 tsp unrefined sugar
- 1 small red onion
- 1 Tbsp chopped dill
- 1 Tbsp capers in vinegar (optional)
Instructions
- Cut the cucumber in half lengthwise, scrape the seeds out with a spoon, then thinly slice into crescent shapes.
- Slice the onion into thin rings.
- Combine the onion, capers and cucumber in a serving dish.
- Mix the vinegar with the sugar and dill, season to taste, then pour this dressing over the salad.
- Cover and let the flavours infuse for at least an hour before serving.
