Honey and mustard chicken bake
Background
This Honey and mustard chicken bake has a sweet & sour flavour though it gets this without any Asian ingredients! It's incredibly easy to make - a perfect mid-week dish for the family! Serve with mash and other veggie side-dishes. It'sΒ very nice cold too - so perfect for picnics and lunch boxes.
Ingredients
- 10 pieces of mixed chicken thighs & drumsticks
- 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
- 4 Tbsp honey
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Grated zest and juice of 1 lemon
- Tabasco (optional)
Instructions
- Mix the mustard, honey, garlic, lemon rind and lemon juice together.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken legs, covering them well. If you have time, marinate for an hour.. Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Season the chicken with salt and pepper (and add a few drops of Tabasco if used) then place them in a roasting tray.
- Bake for 15 minutes, then turn them around and brush each with the marinade. Cook until golden and sticky, for about 20-30 minutes. After 10 or 15 minutes, you should brush them once more with the marinade.
- Serve them warm or cold.
