Background
This dish is very easy, simple and very tasty. I got this recipe from my mom and it was frequently prepared at home, especially on aΒ Sunday, when I was a child. It tastes very good with steamed rice.
Ingredients
- Β½ kg raw prawns
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 3 Onions (medium, chopped finely)
- 3 Green chillies (Chopped finely)
- 1 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 pinch turmeric
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp cumin powder
- Salt as required
- A sprig of coriander leaves chopped
- 1 tsp oil
Instructions
- Heat a pan with 1 tsp oil and add prawns to it with a pinch of turmeric and salt.
- Let the prawns cook until the water from them comes out and evaporates. Keep these cooked prawns aside.
- Heat 2 Tbsp oil in a deep bottomed pan. Add the onions and green chillies and cook until the onions are brown.
- To this add all the spices except for the garam masala and cook until the oil oozes out on the sides.
- Add the garam masala in the end.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
