Mexican-style turkey burger
Background
This Mexican-style turkey burger is perfect for those who don't like red meat. It's very easy to make and the recipe is mild, so add more chili powder, cayenne or chipotle paste if you want it punchy. Serve it in buns, flatbread, tortilla wraps with salsa and condiments of your choice or with baked sweet potatoes and a salad. Perfect for weekend BBQs!
Ingredients
- 500g turkey thigh mince
- 1 egg, lightly whisked
- 1 tsp paprika
- Β½ tsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Β½ bunch spring onion
- 1 handful coriander leaves, chopped
- 1 Tbsp maze/corn flour
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine all ingredients. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside. Chill in the fridge until youβre ready to cook
- Form 6 patties from the mixture.
- Heat your BBQ, grill or griddle pan. Oil or spray the patties on both sides, then fry them on both sides until cooked through.
- Serve in rolls/tortilla wraps with toppings and fillings of your choice.
