Orange and honey roasted duck legs
Background
For dinner parties, Sunday lunches or any special meals (such as Christmas, anniversaries, Valentineโs day etc.) I highly recommend this recipe. These orange and honey baked duck legs are very easy to prepare and bake but the result is really delicious! Serve with mashed potatoes/sweet potatoes and a crispy salad or steamed vegetables.
Ingredients
- 4 duck legs
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 oranges
- 1 Tbsp orange marmalade
- 1 Tbsp honey
- juice of ยฝ lemon
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- ยฝ cup chicken or vegetable stock
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200ยฐC.
- Prick the duck skin with a fork a few times. Put the duck legs in baking tray, skin side up. Season with salt then drizzle with the oil. Roast in the oven for about 30 mins until tender and the skin is light brown.
- Peel and segment the oranges, then chop them into small chunks. Put these in a bowl together with any juices. Add the marmalade, honey, soy, lemon juice and stock.
- Take the duck out of the oven and drain off any excess oil. Pour over the orange mixture then bake for a further 15-20 minutes until the duck is golden brown.
- Serve the duck legs with the orange & honey sauce.
