Salmon fish curry

Background
Fish, as I always reminisce, has been my favourite food since I can remember. It has many recipes and many styles of cooking across the world. No matter which way fish is cooked, it is always a special component in the meal and adds a great spice to it.
Ingredients
- 500g Salmon
- 2 Medium onions finely chopped
- 2 Medium tomatoes chopped
- 2 Green chilli sliced
- 1 inch Ginger piece
- Β½ tsp Mustard seeds
- Β½ tsp Cumin seeds
- Β½ tsp Fenugreek seeds
- Β½ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder (2 tsp if you want it spicy)
- Tamarid (lemon sized) soaked in water for 15 minutes and squeezed out
- 3 Tbsp Oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Clean and wash the fish. Set aside.
- Add oil to a long bottomed vessel and once it heats, add mustard seeds.
- Once the mustard seeds crackle, add cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and ginger.
- Add onions, salt and green chilli and fry until the onions are golden brown.
- Add tomatoes and cook until they are soft.
- Add tamarind water and let it boil.
- Add the fish pieces and cook for 10 mins. Serve it hot with steamed rice.
