Simple veg biryani
Background
Veg biryani is a pleasing meal, prepared with a lovely assortment of fresh vegetables. We never say ‘no’ to our beloved veg biryani and this specific recipe takes only very little of your time as far as preparation and cooking time are concerned. My mom used to make this simple biryani as my lunch box item and this was an instant hit among my friends. They still remember and ask me to prepare whenever they visit my place.
Ingredients
- 2 cups cooked long grained rice
- 2 Tbsp mint leaves
- 2 green chillies slit and cut
- 1 onion thinly sliced
- 1 cup chopped vegetables (carrot, beans)
- 1 tsp biryani masala
- 2 Tbsp oil
- 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
- ¼ cup water
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Cook the required amount of rice.
- Heat oil in a pan, add finely chopped onions and fry till brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste, biryani masala, mint leaves, green chillies and sauté for a minute.
- Add chopped vegetables, salt and water. Cover with a lid and cook on a low flame.
- Add the rice and mix well.
- Serve hot with any gravy.
