Background
Soya chunks are high in protein and a very good vegetarian option which has almost the same protein content as meat. This recipe is very easy, tasty and healthy.
Ingredients
- 2 cups Soya chunks
- 1 Onion, sliced
- 1 Green chilli, chopped
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 1 tsp Dry red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- Salt as required
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- A sprig of curry leaves
Instructions
- Soak the soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes and drain them. Wash them with warm water a couple of times.
- Add water to the washed soya chunks, just enough to cover them.
- Pressure cook them according to the specifications of your pressure cooker.
- In a pan, heat oil and add curry leaves and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the sliced onions and green chilli and fry them until brown.
- Add the turmeric & salt and mix.
- Add the pressure cooked soya chunks and red chilli powder and mix.
