Background
Tomato mutton curry is a simple recipe from Hyderabad.Β This is a must try dish which goes well with rice.
Ingredients
- ½ kg mutton
- 3 Tbsp oil
- 3 medium onions (finely chopped)
- 3 medium tomatoes (finely chopped)
- 3 tsp coriander leaves
- ½ tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- 2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 4 green chillies
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 Tbsp coconut milk
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- In a pressure cooker, heat oil, add the mutton pieces and sauté, add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and mix well.
- Add the salt, turmeric powder and fry well for about 3-4 minutes, add little water and pressure cook on low flame for about 5 whistles.
- Once cool, check if the meat is tenderized or not. Set aside.
- In a pan, add the onions, green chillies and fry till golden brown, add 1 tsp ginger garlic paste and sauté it well until raw smell disappears.
- Add cooked mutton, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder, curry leaves, tomatoes and cook till the tomatoes are soft.
- Cook until a the gravy is thick. Add the garam masala, coconut milk and stir.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with rice.
