Background
If youβre after a delicious but easy recipe for a barbecue/grill party try these yogurt and mint marinated lamb steaks! I think it helps to marinate the lamb for at least 2-4 hours - or you can do it the night before your get-together! Serve it with a crispy salad and Mediterranean flatbread.
Ingredients
- 4 lamb steaks
- 100 ml Greek yogurt
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 2 small cloves garlic, crushed
- Grated zest and juice of half a lemon
- Handful of mint leaves, finely chopped
- Β½ tsp ground cumin
- Salt and ground black pepper
Instructions
- Except for the salt & pepper, mix the ingredients and pour into a freezer bag. Add the lamb steaks, then tie the bag and rub the meat well with the mixture through the bag.
- Chill for 2-4 hours to marinate.
- Half an hour before cooking, remove the lamb steaks from the refrigerator.
- Season the steaks with salt and pepper, then cook them on a preheated barbecue, grill or griddle pan for about 5 minutes on each side, depending on the thickness of the meat and how well-done you or your guests like lamb.
- Serve with couscous or slice it up and serve in pita/flatbread with a spiced sauce and crispy salad of your choice.
