Zesty grilled venison steak

Background
I love cooking venison steak because it’s quick and easy and rather delicious! Also it’s a very lean meat, so it’s quite healthy too and not costing a fortune either. Grilling, barbecuing or pan-frying is the easiest way to cook it - this zesty grilled venison steak recipe is perfect example. This dish is ideal for dinner parties or for special occasions and anniversaries.
Ingredients
- 4 tbs olive oil
- 2 Tbsp pineapple juice (preferably fresh)
- 4 crushed juniper berries
- 2 slices of orange peel
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 sprig rosemary, chopped
- 4 venison steaks
- To serve:
- 4 small knobs of butter or dairy free spread
Instructions
- Put the ingredients in a large bowl, add the steaks and coat evenly. Cover and chill in the fridge for 3-4 hours.
- Half an hour before cooking, take it out of the refrigerator.
- Heat your griddle pan, grill or BBQ and cook it on both sides, for about 3-5 minutes, depending how well cooked you like your meat.
- Rub the steak with the butter or spread and let it melt, then remove from the heat to a plate. Cover with foil and rest for several 5 minutes.
- Serve with seasonal vegetables and the cooking juices poured on top.
