Background
If you like the cocktail, Bloody Mary, you'll love this warm version, which will help you survive the winter months! You can serve it with or without vodka -Β either way this Bloody Mary Soup will warm you up! Perfect for parties as an aperitif!
Ingredients
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic
- 500 ml tomato juice
- 250 ml Passata
- 1 Tbsp Worcester sauce
- Juice of 1 lemon
- To serve: Tabasco, Vodka, Celery
- Horseradish cream:
- 3 Tbsp Greek yoghurt or crème fraîche
- 1 Tbsp horseradish sauce
Instructions
- Mince the garlic. Heat the oil in a saucepan with the garlic. When it sizzles and starts browning, add the tomato juice and passata. Bring to a simmer and cook gently for about 10 minutes - do not let it boil!
- Add the Worcestershire sauce & lemon juice - season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Mix the yoghurt with the horseradish.
- Pour the soup into heat-resistant glasses or mugs. Add one Tbsp of vodka to each, then a few drops of Tabasco and a little horseradish cream. Serve each with a celery stick.
