Background
Bottle gourd or Calabash halwa is an Indian desert. It tastes delicious and is very easy to make. This dish is made on festive occasions.
Ingredients
- 2 cups grated tender bottle gourd
- 8-10 cashew nuts
- 5-6 almonds
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ liter milk
- ½ cup clarified butter
- 10 raisins
- 1 cup condensed milk
- A pinch edible green color
Instructions
- Take a tender bottle gourd, deseed and grate.
- Heat clarified butter in a pan and add cashew nuts, almonds (slit into thin pieces) and raisins.
- Add grated bottle gourd and cook for 10 minutes on low flame.
- Add milk and green color. Keep mixing.
- Add condensed milk and sugar. Mix for 5 minutes till right consistency.
- Serve at room temperature.
