Background
Panettone is a delicious treat all year round, but around Christmas time it's an especially splendid indulgence! This Bread Machine Panettone creates an authentic and very tasty loaf using simple ingredients - with very little outlay of effort or money you can produce something really fresh and scrumptious.
Ingredients
- Initial Ingredients:
- Yeast 1Β½ tsp
- Strong White Flour 400 g
- Sugar 4Β½ Tbsp
- Salt 1 tsp
- Butter 50g - cut into 2cm cubes
- 2 medium Eggs - beaten
- Milk 200 ml β warmed to room temperature
- Additional Ingredients for later in cycle:
- Butter 70g - cut into 2cm cubes
- Candied Orange Peel 50g - finely chopped
- Sultanas 50 g
- Currants 50 g
Instructions
- Add the Initial Ingredients to the bread machine pan in the order listed - unless your manual suggests otherwise.
- If your machine has a Brioche setting then use it, otherwise just use the basic bread setting.
- Machines with a Brioche cycle will probably let you know by beeping when to put in the Additional Ingredients. If yours is less sophisticated then add them about 10 minutes before the end of the first kneading cycle i.e. about 60 minutes from starting.
