Background
When you make your own burgers you normally need to put some extras - pickled cucumber, relish, ketchup, mayo, mustard orย other condiments - in the buns to make the burger more tasty and juicy.ย Alternatively you can make a burger sauce that already has most of theseย in it - then just spoon someย onto the bottom half of the bun, addย some lettuce, pop on a patty and your burger's ready to go! Anyย leftover sauce is useful for sandwiches and wraps.
Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp mayonaise
- 1 Tbsp Greek yoghurt
- 1 Tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 medium gherkin
- 1 shallot
- 1 Tbsp chopped dill or chives
Instructions
- Finely chop the shallot and the gherkin.
- In a small bowl, mix all ingredients together. Season with salt and pepper and adjust the sauce to your liking (add more mustard, ketchup etc see Tip).
- Keep chilled until you're ready to use it.
Tips
You can spice up the burger sauce with a pinch of cayenne pepper or by adding some finely chopped chilli.Categories
