Background
If you like Asian food but not too spicy flavours this recipe is a must! It's really easy to make, taking a maximum of 15 minutes. So Β this Chinese style beef steak is ideal on busy or lazy days and for barbecue parties. Serve it with rice, salad or just in a sandwich.
Ingredients
- 2 beef steaks (sirloin or rump)
- 3 Tbsp soya sauce (light)
- 2 Tbsp Chinese plum sauce (or plum jam)
- 1 inch of ginger
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 spring onion
- 1 handful of coriander, chopped
Instructions
- Peel the ginger and finely grate it. Finely chop the garlic and the spring onion too - including the green leafy part.
- Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Add the steaks, cover them well and leave them in the marinade for at least 30 minutes - longer if you can.
- Preheat your grill, barbecue or griddle pan.
- Cook the steaks according to your liking and the thickness of the meat (about 4 minutes on each side for medium), basting with the marinade. If you're using a griddle pan, pour the marinade around the steaks to create a sauce. Serve the steaks with sauce.
