Background
This Chinese style slaw complements all sorts of food - sandwiches, burgers, grilled fish, barbecued chicken, roast duck and so on. It's ready in 10 minutes.
Ingredients
- Half head of white cabbage
- 2 medium carrots
- 1 bunch of radish
- Half a cucumber
- 6 spring onions
- Dressing:
- 4 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 lime (juiced)
- 1 tsp Chinese five spice powder
Instructions
- Core then shred or thinly slice the cabbage.
- Peel then coarsely grate the carrots.
- Thinly slice the radishes and spring onions.
- Cut the cucumber in half, scrape out the seeds, then slice into long strips.
- Mix the vegetables in a large bowl. Whisk together the dressing in a small bowl and pour over the sliced vegetables. Season to taste.
- Just before serving, toss well.
