Background

This Chinese style slaw complements all sorts of food - sandwiches, burgers, grilled fish, barbecued chicken, roast duck and so on. It's ready in 10 minutes.

Ingredients

Half head of white cabbage
2 medium carrots
1 bunch of radish
Half a cucumber
6 spring onions
Dressing:
4 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp sesame oil
1 lime (juiced)
1 tsp Chinese five spice powder

Instructions

Core then shred or thinly slice the cabbage.
Peel then coarsely grate the carrots.
Thinly slice the radishes and spring onions.
Cut the cucumber in half, scrape out the seeds, then slice into long strips.
Mix the vegetables in a large bowl. Whisk together the dressing in a small bowl and pour over the sliced vegetables. Season to taste.
Just before serving, toss well.
