Background
I made these jam puff rolls for my birthday party - they were a great success! And they are so easy to make -Β can be vegan or gluten-free too! Use any kind of jam, and add some thick custard, if dairy is not an issue for you.
Ingredients
- 1 pack ready-made puff pastry ( gluten-free, dairy-free, if needed)
- Good quality homemade jam or jam
- 1 beaten egg (optional)
- Icing sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200Β°C.
- Unroll the pastry and cut it into equal-sized squares.
- Drop some jam in the middle of each square, spread it out - but not to the edge of the pastry.
- Roll them up, then place them onto a lined baking sheet. Brush the tops with the egg, if you want them shiny.
- Bake until golden for 10-15 minutes, then let them cool on a rack.
- Sprinkle with icing sugar, if you like.
